NORTH HOLLYWOOD, California — An overnight shooting at an AirBnB house party in North Hollywood sent 7 people to the hospital, officials said.
When police arrived at the 12700 block of Tiara Street after a disturbance call just before 1 a.m, they describe a chaotic scene. When officers got to the scene, multiple people were running away as the sound of gunshots pierced through the darkness of the night, said LAPD Lt. Bob Toledo.
Initially, authorities said 5 people were shot and 2 were injured while running away from the bullets, but Toledo said it was 6 people who were struck by the gunfire, with one other person suffering injuries while running away.
All 7 victims were transported to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. They are all in stable condition, Toledo said.
Police detained 2 people for questioning as they investigated whether the property was an AirBnB rental and whether the shooting might have been gang-related, Toledo said, adding that partygoers from as far away as the Inland Empire were in attendance.
The shooting continues to be under investigation by the police as they search for more possible suspects.
